Today marked the beginning of a new venture: Gatlinburg’s own Foxtrot Bed and Breakfast Cooking School. For six years, the cooking school has been rolling around in the back of my mind, and, now, the first class is completed. Our first class was a group of my Gamma Phi Beta sorority sisters–12 in fact. The next class won’t be that large; so we can do more hands on projects. Everyone seemed to have a great time, or was it just the sugar high.
We focused on desserts for this class, sampling Prince William’s Cake, Banana Nut Cake, and Creme Brulet. Demonstration and practice on Creme Brulet took most of our time. The Foxtrot Cooking School will be available on request for four or more students and weekly for January, February, and March. Our next class will focus on high tea.
